Bob Hund has been HCI’s Operating Partner since 2016. He and his team work with portfolio company CEOs and their C-suite management teams on value creation strategies. Bob also reviews new investment opportunities. He brings to the position a broad array of direct experience in business, including manufacturing, distribution, sourcing, marketing, product development, mergers and acquisitions, international sales, and aftermarket support.
In his latest role, Bob served as president of Manitowoc Foodservice (now Welbilt), with responsibility for the design, manufacturing, sales, and support of the company’s global $1.7 billion commercial kitchen and icemaker equipment business.
Prior to this, Bob was the executive vice president of Manitowoc’s crane business, primarily leading the customer service division and managing M&A activity. He was responsible for leading customer support functions through a network of employees based in 51 locations and at dealer branches around the world. Previously, he served as Manitowoc Cranes’ vice president of global marketing and product management.
Bob also served in several roles over 18 years at Caterpillar, Inc., including leading product and process development for the company’s Mining and Construction Equipment division, serving as a Six Sigma division champion, area manager for Central Europe, commercial manager for new product lines, sales representative in Europe and Southeast Asia, and working as a manufacturing and systems engineer on several factory modernization projects. He currently sits on the board of directors of Vermeer Corporation.
Bob holds an MBA from Millikin University, an MSIE degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and a BSME degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University.
