Doug is a Co-Founder, Managing Partner, and Chief Investment Officer at HCI Equity Partners.
Before joining HCI, Doug worked in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley & Co. and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division. In addition to his professional endeavors, Doug has been a leader in the non-profit, service and political arenas. He has served as Board Chair for Team Red White and Blue & Bunker Labs (veteran support organizations), Investment Committee Chair for the National Endowment for Financial Education, and Chair of the Keystone Renewal PAC.
Doug is passionate about empowering others through education and is the author of “Family Inc.: Using Business Principles to Maximize Your Family’s Wealth”. In addition, he is co-host of the “Best But Never Final Podcast”, which demystifies private equity through candid discussions with industry practitioners. Doug also serves as an outside director for The Heritage Group, a fourth-generation family-owned business managing a diverse portfolio of more than 50 companies specializing in construction & materials, environmental services, and specialty chemicals.
Doug received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he was also First Captain of the Corps of Cadets and Captain of the Army Wrestling team.
